UK Joins Hague Agreement for International Protection of Registered Designs

From the 13th June 2018 onwards, UK-based Applicants can use the Hague Agreement - administered by the World Intellectual Property Organization (WIPO) - to extend protection of their UK Registered Designs to up to 82 other territories of the World, through a single International Application and a single set of fees.

That enhances the ability of UK-based Applicants to extend their Registered Design protection, and do so at a cost which is significantly reduced from filing numerous independent national Applications.

In addition, UK Registered Designs may now be filed more easily by foreign Applicants from territories who are signatories to the Hague Agreement.

Although UK-based Applicants could access the Hague Agreement if they held a European Union Registered Design, holders of UK Registered Designs have never been able to use the Hague Agreement - until now!
